Shayla Hayward-Lundy
Shayla is a board-certified art therapist specializing in military and veteran mental health, anxiety, chronic stress, and substance use. She integrates additional certifications in yoga, mindfulness, and brain injury care for a holistic approach to well-being. Shayla earned a master’s in Counseling and Art Therapy from Eastern Virginia Medical School and is currently pursuing a doctorate in Counseling and Psychological Studies with a concentration in Addiction at Regent University. Her doctoral research explores how spirituality or religious faith influences substance use behaviors and recovery in the military and veteran community.
Beyond her clinical practice, Shayla has over a decade of experience in nonprofit operations and fundraising with organizations such as Paralyzed Veterans of America, Warrior for Life Fund, and the Military Special Operations Family Collaborative. Her expertise in both mental health and nonprofit management allows her to translate the needs of those she serves into compelling opportunities for philanthropic support.
Shayla holds a gubernatorial appointment to Virginia’s Advisory Board for Art Therapy and contributes as a Subject Matter Expert for the Art Therapy Credentials Board.
